Is This for Real?

You Know What “D” Stands For, Right?

Who Made This?

Farmin’ that D (farming the D, farming some D, vitamin D farming) is the brainchild of Jane Bulnes-Fowles, brain cancer patient and pirate queen of the Potomac waters.

When faced with a glioblastoma diagnosis, Jane found articles and research suggesting (among other things) that Vitamin D supplementation may help cancer patients generally and GBM patients specifically. While certainly not a cure, the idea of supplementation to buy even a few days or to improve quality of life was compelling.

Unfortunately, as a clinical trial participant, Jane was unable to take supplements. Now a clinical trial team may be able to tell you what meds or supplements are allowed or disqualify you, but they can’t stop you from standing in the sun. And so Jane began to stand in the sun when she could - a practice Jane, and eventually her whole family, began to refer to as “farming D”.

For those wondering, the science behind this website and the benefits of Vitamin D are all true.

And yes, we do know what D is slang for ;)
